Texas’ population grew 15.9 percent in the last decade, thanks largely to our state’s business-friendly policies, skilled and educated workforce, and entrepreneurial opportunities. As Senate Chair of the Eagle Ford Legislative Caucus and Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Natural Resources and Economic Development, Senator Judith Zaffirini is positioned uniquely to advance policies that promote economic growth and spur job creation while protecting our environment for future generations. This will ensure Texas remains the best place to live and work.

She believes strongly that all working Texans deserve a living wage and paid sick leave. She also understands that creating high-quality jobs doesn’t simply happen: It requires action, including investing in modern technologies such as wind and solar energy; building and maintaining our roads, bridges, dams, and schools; expanding access to broadband internet; and providing world-class education and job training to every Texan. 

When the Texas Legislature meets in 2023, Senator Zaffirini will be at the forefront of sponsoring new jobs legislation, such as free community college job training programs, infrastructure construction, higher minimum wages, and worker safety programs.
