(AUSTIN) —Senator Judith Zaffirini, D-Laredo, announced today (Tuesday) that
the City of Converse will receive a $35,000 Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Local Projects Grant from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
The grant will help the city purchase an additional ambulance.
“For 19 years the Texas Department of State Health Services (TDRA) has
administered these funds and provided this critical support to local communities,”
Senator Zaffirini said. “I am delighted that Converse will benefit from a new
ambulance, thereby greatly improving public health and safety.”
EMS Local Projects Grants are administered by DSHS and are used by local
governments to purchase much-needed equipment, training, public education
programs and supplies.
